Pat Connaughton Foundation Donates $400,000 to Fidelity House, Arlington, MA

ARLINGTON, MA – June 11, 2024 – The Pat Connaughton Foundation is proud to announce a $400,000 donation to Fidelity House in Arlington, Massachusetts. This contribution will support the renovation of their basketball facility which will provide the next generation of student athletes in the greater Boston area the opportunity to pursue their dreams on and off the court. The facility will feature two basketball courts and provide community space that will help Fidelity House further an aligned mission of creating access to athletics and teaching translatable life skills. “Pat’s donation and his continued support of Fidelity House has been vital for this project’s success. Pat grew up attending Fidelity House and it is wonderful that he is giving so much back to this community” Ed Woods, Executive Director at Fidelity House explained. “Hundreds of families and thousands of kids will benefit from this facility. We are incredibly grateful for Pat’s support.”
Pat Connaughton, NBA champion and Arlington native, has a deep personal connection to Fidelity House. “Fidelity House is where my basketball journey began. It’s a place that taught me the value of hard work, teamwork, perseverance, and so many other life lessons,” said Connaughton. “The people of Fidelity House and the entire Arlington community helped shape me into the person I am today, which has allowed me to achieve dreams even I wasn’t sure were possible. I am fortunate to be in a position to give back to a place that means so much to me and I am hopeful this facility will inspire the next generation of FiHo athletes to dream even bigger.”
Fidelity House has been a cornerstone of the Arlington community, offering a safe and supportive environment for children and teenagers to engage in sports and recreational activities. “The new Fidelity House gym is crucial for our community, giving our daughter and other young athletes a venue to gain valuable skills and life experiences. We look forward to the gym serving as a hub for inclusive community events and providing a space for children to come together and make lifelong memories." said current parents of a Fidelity House Pre-K student.
The announcement of the Fidelity House brings the Pat Connaughton Foundation 2024 Summer total to nine Courts donated/refurbished, spanning from Wisconsin to New Hampshire to Massachusetts, and all the way to Africa.
About Pat Connaughton Foundation: The Pat Connaughton Foundation was founded in 2016 with the mission of creating access to athletics for the next generation of student athletes, through Courts, Clinics, and Character. The PCF focuses on teaching them the translatable life skills sports teach us, including hard work, teamwork, leadership, accountability, and discipline. During the last 8 years the PCF has hosted 25 clinics, completed 6 courts with 9 under way, and impacted over 20,300 youth student-athletes.
